As a team, our goal for your first visit is to help you become familiar with us and our caring practice philosophy. We will strive to provide you with an experience you will enjoy to help you achieve “the smile of your life.”
Your first appointment is scheduled following your initial phone call to our office.
MEETING YOU!
During the first appointment several important things will happen. First, you will be greeted by our exceptional staff. We will then review your personal information, health history, and your chief concerns with your teeth and/or smile to determine how we can assist you in achieving the smile of your dreams. Our orthodontist will then get to know you and listen to your desires and concerns. He will then conduct a thorough examination of your face, jaws, mouth, and teeth, to determine whether you can benefit from orthodontic treatment and, if so, when treatment should begin.
GETTING STARTED
In order for our doctors to accurately diagnose your problems and plan your treatment, some additional information is needed beyond what is found during the examination. We know your time is very valuable, so if the doctor requests diagnostic records to evaluate your specific needs, we may take records on the same day as your initial examination to save you time. This information is used to create a custom treatment plan for each patient.
In our office we will take digital photographs of your face and teeth, digital x-rays of both your teeth and surrounding bone, and of your head to evaluate the position of the jaw structures. We will then take molds of your teeth, from which plaster replicas are made.
At the consultation, Dr. Nguyen will fully explain the nature and extent of your needs and present an individualized plan of treatment. This time with the doctors is important because it is your time to have your questions answered and feel comfortable with the orthodontic treatment plan. Our treatment coordinator will review costs of treatment and payment arrangements. We don’t want finances to stand in the way of you or your child enjoying a beautiful smile for life, so we will make every effort to work with you in making financial arrangements to fit your budget.
If the timing is right, the next visit will be dedicated to placing your braces. You will receive individual instruction in hygiene, diet, and appliance care from our caring team.
Once the braces are placed, subsequent adjustment visits are scheduled every four to six weeks. These visits normally take between 15-45 minutes.
